Multiple signups in same time slot by same volunteer

I am testing my sign-up sheet and I was able to sign-up for two slots at exactly the same time. Is there anyway to notify either the volunteer or the administrator that this has happened.

Conflicting Sign-ups

Currently there is no automatic detection or alert if a volunteer signs up for two slots that have overlaping time frames. We have that on our list of future features, but I do not have any estimate for when it will be in the system. Conflicting sign-ups is something the administrator would have to watch for in the Manage tab or in the reports, and manually correct in the Manage tab.

With that said, depending on how your tasks are organizaed you may be able to prevent it by setting the Volunteer Slot Limit for each task to 1. That would allow a volunteer to only sign up for one slot within a task. To change the Volunteer Slot Limit for a task, look under the Signup Sheet Design tap, any of your task tabs, then More Task Options.

Thanks, that's too bad. My

Thanks, that's too bad. My problem is that we have many, many tasks and the participant may not notice that the time slots overlap. Or they may choose the wrong day and sign-up twice on Sat instead of once on sat and once on sun. With almost 1,000 participants it makes it tough for us to look at the reports and see that too. We will hope that the Summary page will bring that conflict to the volunteer's attention.

Conflicting slot warning

Makes sense. I am surprised we haven't seen more requests for such a warning considering the number of events we have hosted with as many volunteers. We continue to improve iVolunteer largely based on customers' feedback, and priorities are generally based on the number of requests we receive for a feature and the number of customers who might benefit. I will see if we can get the priority moved up on this request, or at least maybe an indicator added to one of the reports.

Slot Time Conflict Indicator in Participant Report

To address this in the short run, we are adding a "conflicting slot time" indicator to the Participant report. This will be in production within one or two weeks. At an aggregate level the report will flag any participants who have time conflicts. At the detail level the report will flag which slots are conflicting per participant. For this feature to work the administrator must provide the "from time" and "to time" in either a task's row or column headers. As usual, you will be able to consolidate multiple events into this report when it is run from the Organization menu.

You folks are totally

You folks are totally awesome. I can't believe that I mentioned this today and you are already working on the fix. Our event is not until October so I know that everything will be in place for us. Thanks for all your hard work!
