What Is an ivolunteer.com “Task”?
An ivolunteer.com “Task” in ivolunteer is not a “task” in the everyday sense. Instead, it’s a super-flexible grouping of volunteer slots. A Task area may represent a location, a day, a week, or a set of roles– whatever best supports your volunteer management needs in any given situation.
In the festival event setup below, for example, each “Task” area is a general volunteer area that needs to be filled, and the signup opportunities are divided into time slots.
Another common scenario is the need to fill multiple volunteer shifts on a weekly basis. The next example shows you how you might tackle that setup in the New Event Wizard.
This screenshot is from the “Slots” step of the wizard, using a weekly multi-shift template. The sign up “Event” covers Monday-Friday, morning and afternoon volunteer shifts, from Jan. 1 to March 28. Notice that you can add or remove days of the week and shifts. Then in the grid below, you can edit the number of volunteers needed for each shift. (Just type “0” to omit a slot completely from a specific day/shift.)
